iiNet Offers multi line VoIP service to SMB, Business Customers

12 November 2007 – Showing strong signs that iiNet Limited (ASX: IIN) is serious about developing its place in the business market, the company today announced a new business grade multi-line phone service using VoIP technology (Voice over Internet Protocol). The introduction of the business grade service is exciting news for small businesses who will benefit from a drastic drop in the cost of their communication services. VoIP allows customers to make calls over their broadband service and results in cheaper call rates for customers. VoIP usage has grown strongly over the last 5 years, the result of significant improvements in technology and the addition of new features including voicemail, call waiting, caller ID, and music-on-hold.

General Manager iiNet Business, Andy McIntyre said Multi-line VoIP offered our customers lower call costs, more efficient networking and access to a range of new applications which, until now, have only been available to large business.
“This product is a great initiative which will allow small and medium businesses to benefit from the use of VoIP via reduced call costs, ease of set-up and free calls between iiNet VoIP users,” McIntyre said.
iiNet recently announced the formation of a dedicated business team focused on providing small businesses across Australia with reliable and innovative products and services specifically developed with them in mind.
“The launch of multi-line VoIP will be followed by additional services aimed at the SME market including an easy way for businesses to share information between users via a secure online environment using Virtual Private Networking, plus SIP Trunking which will save time and money by combining traditional PABX services and new IP technology ” added McIntyre.
