VXML (Voice XML) for Asterisk IP PBX

The Open Source IP PBX, VoIP IP Telephony project, Asterisk has a VXML interpreter through VoiceGlue project. VoiceGlue provides these using the OpenVXI interpreter. The project also utilizes other open source initiatives to provide open source VXML solution for Asterisk users. VoiceGlue is released under GPL.
So what does VXML do for Asterisk? Well remember that is the current release is version 0.1 and capable of providing DTMF input support (no speech recognition yet), recording, and playback of TTS Text To Speech(via flite) and pre-recorded audio. The project VoiceGlue plan to integrate speech recognition using LumenVox's engine and possibly Sphinx. The speech recognition support is expected to be released soon.
After downloading the product, you can find the documentation regarding installation and user guide could be found here.
