iPhone hacker saga continues! Hotz gets $30000 for the phone

The kid who hacked (VOIP IP Telephony: iPhone unlocked) the iPhone so that it could be used with other carriers have had a rough ride with all the attention and his quest to get his phone sold on Ebay, is about to get one of the smoothest rides, soon.
"Once the offers went above like $10,000, $20,000 I knew they were bogus," said Hotz, of Glen Rock. "There's no way anyone would pay millions for this phone."

But high-tech mogul Terry Daidone offered a legitimate deal for the unlocked iPhone that Hotz couldn't pass up: a new Nissan 350Z roadster and three, new 8GB iPhones.

Daidone, founder of CertiCell, a company that refurbishes old cell phones, called Hotz yesterday with an offer to trade the $30,000 wheels for the historic cell phone.

"It's the car the bad guy in the movie 'Fast and Furious 3' drives," said Hotz, who jumped at the offer. "It's brand new. We're going to go to the dealership and pick it up in a couple of days."
