Verizon Tweets From iPhone, Then Deletes Tweet. It Is iPhone News Tomorrow For Sure Now!

Verizon iPhone Tweet
#Verizon #Tweets From #iPhone, #Verizoniphone http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/

The URL referred  by the tweet exists! :)
There was a Tweet this morning from Verizon which was sent from an iPhone, most probably a Verizon iPhone that is being announced tomorrow.
But there is another story that took the attention from the fact, Cult of  Mac went fact finding and blamed Techcrunch for photoshopping the tweet. It was so funny that took bunch of cross referencing, to make sure that you are not wrong in laughing so loud.
Those Mac maniacs must even be photoshopping their morning toasts and assume everyone follow the suit!
Well we wont be getting up early for Verizon News, iPhone 4G or not, it is so cold anyway.
Techcrunch
and Cult of Mac, Updated to acknowledge the fact, (not that they eat photoshopped toasts but that TechCrunch may be right!)

Verizon iPhone To Rule The Air, With iPhone 4(G)?

image from Gizmodo
#VerizoniPhone To #RuleTheAir. http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
The blogsphere and the regular news channels are awash with Verizon iPhone. More so since Verizon has sent out the invite above to select few Bloggers and reporters. I too think that Verizon will announce the iPhone on 11th.
We have discussed the event of Verizon, the best wireless carrier, according to consumer reports, will hammer the worst wireless carrier, AT&T according to the same report and some personal experiences. But come to think of it, it might be the other carriers in the middle, SPrint and T-Mobile that might get hit hardest.
AT&T has some kind of bind on most of it's iPhone contracts and the release of iPhone 4 added and renewed most of these contracts, except people like me. Even though my iPhone is old, iPhone 3G, and my contract with AT&T is over, I am still with AT&T on that account. Why? because I have unlimited data, which is very important to me. I might get a new phone, something like Google Nexus S, unlocked and yet stay with AT&T until, I find a carrier with reasonable data offer.
But get back to the subject of Verizon iPhone, one aspect that might make it attractive to most would be, in addition to the reliable wireless net work, is the possibility of iPhone on 4G. I am sure there will be flock of new users to Verizon, if the Verizon iPhone is iPhone 4G!
So rather than seeing flocks of AT&T customers defecting to Verizon, we might see many new customers who were put off because of the AT&T from getting an iPhone will run to Verizon. Those are the customers that may have gone to Sprint or T-Mobile
The other aspect of the scenario is that Verizon will be better prepared than the AT&T handling the influx of data gulping iPhone users on their network. They have experienced the Android and Laptop users sucking data on their network and I am sure they would have tested and retested for the potential data hungry iPhone users.
So those who thought that AT&T network would be better after many iPhone users defecting to Verizon better check their options. Sprint and T-Mobile better have some strategies to over come the loss of new users.

Verizon iPhone, A Death Ringer For AT&T?

#Verizon #iPhone, http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
Might not be the death ringer but losing $6 Billion (Analyst prediction) or 10% of income is a big issue for AT&T. It had enough time but AT&T spent it's time scratching something than fixing the connectivity and network issues.I have not been happy with AT&T service at all for my iPhone(s), which we pay a hefty sum, each month. One reason that we switched from Sprint to AT&T was because we wanted iPhone experience.
The dissatisfaction with AT&T is not a remote issue, there are many people who are unhappy with AT&T, according to a recent Consumer Reports survey, 58,000 ranked AT&T to be the worst wireless carrier. I for one will go to Verizon, if I am to stay with iPhone. AT&T even hiked the early termination fee (more like an early termination scheme,) to $325 from $175, perhaps hoping to curb the flow. Well, I will still be leaving AT&T. AT&T still fail to see that people value, a good service and are willing to pay for it.
I am also wondering if Apple will add an "G" to the Verizon iPhone, making it iPhone 4G! That will throw all the analysts numbers regarding AT&T's loss out of the window, that the industry is now predicting. It will be fun to watch how Verizon will advertise "Girly iPhones".
There is a good article on Businessweek, if you are interested in the Verizon iPhone and it's effects on AT&T.

iPhone HD / 4G Clone, "GPS-PHONE" From China!

iPhone HD Clone http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
The latest iPhone clone from China is called "GPS-PHONE"  and offers a number of features that even Steve Jobs 4th generation iPhone lacks, a front facing camera, a TV antenna, mini USB interface, and camera flash.
The phone interface looks surprisingly close to Apple iPhone interface and according to Mac Rumors, can load java apps, ne description of underlying OS. But I want an antenna on my phone.

WHy The Next iPhone May Not Be Named "iPhone 4G" !

iPhone 4G vs iPhone HD http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
Informationweek's Mark Zeman has a nice article and a theory why the next iPhone may not be named "iPhone 4G". Good for us because we have been referring to it also as "iPhone HD"
He uses the 4G network standard yet in formulation as the reason for Apple to stay away from 4G capability on the next iPhone. But if that is the case, Steve Jobs will be able to sell the iPhone 4G twice, one for the Pre-4G and the second for the real 4G, but Mark did you notice that 4G could be easily turned into $G. Apple is in it for $G not for standards.
The article is very informative.

iPhone 3GS 16GB Dropped To $97

iPhone 3GS for $97 http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
Walmart is doing great in the phone business and offering a deal that might leave a bunch of people in a prickly pickle. Should I get this (OLD) iPhone for $97 and lock myself to the mercy of AT&T fro two years or wait till Apple release the iPhone 4G ( iPhone HD) in June at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference, AWDC 2010 which starts on June 7th, and pay higher price for what could be a better phone and lock them selves. But some even must be wondering if they could go the way of Androids and get a something like Droid Incredible.
In either case, you need a new account or an existing account that's eligible to upgrade and of course you have to commit to a two-year contract.

A Closer Look At Next Apple iPhone, iPhone HD or iPhone 4G

iPhone HD or iPhone 4G http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
By now the whole world knows what next apple iPhone will look like and what Apple does to keep their secrets secret, like breaking into peoples house, of course with law enforcement. I have been following Gizmodo for a long time and you will always find a link Gizmodo from here linking to what we liked.
So of course when Apple released it's hounds, after getting the phone back, they tried to look and behave it is not us! But I guess for being member of the law enforcement unit that looks after tech assets, has it's perks. I am beginning to wonder about even the fake Steve Jobs.
In any case the saga continues, people got the related papers unlocked, which showed that Steve Jobs himself called to ask for the device back. Well Gizmodo had means to defend itself, but I wonder what happened to the guy the video below?

But for your pleasure, Gizmodo has got all the posts together in one place, all the titles below, so you can follow up and stay current with the story.

  • How Apple lost the next iPhone
  • How Apple missed chances to get the device back
  • How Apple asked to get their phone back
  • All the details about the next iPhone including a dissection
  • How Apple conceals prototype iPhones
  • Another lost iPhone shows new details
  • Why it's not about the iPhone
  • Conspiracy theorists: Why Apple didn't leak the iPhone to us
  • The Investigation into that missing iPhone

Next iPhone Is Tad Ugly The Gizmodo version!

Next iPhone  Is Tad Ugly http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
Gizmodo has published some videos and photos of iPhone 4G or iPhone HD. But I am not convinced. It is squarish and rough edged to be anything to be coming from Apple. Unless Apple is going to claim every possible design copyright aka Apple Industrial Design patent on every  Phones and  Pad.

Nexus One Gets Boost From Google Financials, Vice 'n Versa

Nexus One Economy http://snapvoip.blogspot.com
Google was uppity up about it's financials as they have beaten the market expectations.

Google reported $5.06 billion for the quarter, up 19 percent from last year. Net income for the quarter also were up at $1.96 billion, from $1.4 billion last year.
They were also happy about the financials of Nexus One, Google's own Android Phone, which is supposed to be leaving shelves at about 60,000 a day, which translates into about 92 million a year :). 60,000 activations of Nexus One a day is an achievement itself in today's saturated mobile market.
The Google Android Market (Android App Store) is growing too, AM now has about 38.000 apps. This is also a milestone as in last September it just passed 10,000 app mark. I guess app store wars are up!
But the good news was that Nexus One is making money and the project is in the black! Google almost were laughing at the nay sayers who thought and said, Nexus One is a flop!
I will be flopping to a Nexus One or better when my AT&T contract runs out on my iPhone 3G, unless iPhone 4G is so attractive AND available from another carrier!

New iPhone (iPhone 4G ?) In June, Says Canadian Telephony CEO

New iPhone (iPhone 4G ?) In June, Says Canadian Carrier CEO http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
In a conversation about its 3G service, SASKTEL CEO Robert Watson has mentioned;
"The good news is that (Apple) is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June time-frame and they're going to put us on that. So we're quite excited about that."
Well we all know that Apple has the habit of releasing a new iPhone, every summer since the original iPhone release. But Apple and the Blogsphere has been pretty quiet about this so called new iPhone, iPhone 4G

Apple Patenting Location-based Social Networking App Called "iGroups",

iGroups snapvoip.blogspot.com
Patently Apple has published a very informative article about the new Apple patent application for an application called iGroups. Patenting software or ideas is not something I like. These will eventually lead to Apple lawsuits, like Apple-HTC lawsuit.
Apple's iGroup will be a new service that will work on your iPhone together with GPS (devices without GPS will get virtual GPS via MobileME) to group individuals at an even like concert, tradeshows, business meetings, and weddings etc. These contacts, even though brief, could be carried into the social networking arena to making them permanent, like a new way to add friends to your Facebook or follow / get followed on twitter etc.
The patent application which I have not looked at because I felt Patently Apple has done a great job of presenting the same, seem to focus on iPhone users in a groups. This is not the first patent that Apple applied in relation to Social Networking and if I am Google, I will add Social networking to the list fields that droid wars will wage.
But don't hold your breath hoping this to appear on your iPhone 4G.
Patently Apple has, as I mentioned, a very descriptive and entertaining article on this so please follow the link.

iPhone 4G Coming Soon (Rumors)

iPhone 4G snapvoip.blogspot.com

Lately there have been much talk about iPhone 4G on the web from Korean wesites, french websites and of course the street analysts from Goldman Sachs Group.
iPhone 4G will have an OLED screen and support for video chat and will have a better camera to match that of Google's Nexus One, which the iPhone 4G was / is supposed to beat. Some also say that the new Apple phone will have a removable battery but that I think is taking things a bit too far from Apples habits regarding batteries.
But WWDC 2010 might actually bring the phone out.
