Free Mobile Calls from Your Mobile Phone Skype and Hipsip.

Today I found another mobile VoIP service. This time the new service called Hipsip, rides on Skype backbone to provide you with free calls.
Basically you install a Hipsip bridge on your computer and your mobiles browser need to be pointed Hipsip site. Once logged in, you can call any of your Skype contacts for a cost of a local call. The draw back is that you need to have your computer running at all the time in order to make a call. With nowadays calls for energy conservation and green PCs, it will be difficult for normal user to configure the environment needed to run Hipsip. If you are at home, then you don't need Hipsip, because you can call the contacts directly from skype or skype device you have. All in all it is a good Idea but the other solutions that are little better user friendly, like other mobile phone Skype services like iSkoot, Mobivox and Fring, might keep me from using Hipsip. But I will keep my eyes open and if the system gets better, who knows. If I don't uninstall skype.

Sipcall.com Inc., the parent of Hipsip, is a California corporation with offices in Menlo Park. The company was founded in 2004, is privately funded and in the process of raising more capital. The team cosists of less then 10 people with backgrounds from academia, VoIP and the mobile industry.
If this is your dish, here is the website, go check it out.
