AT&T And Verizon Drop "There Is A Map For That" Lawsuits.

"There Is A Map For That" Lawsuit snapvoip.blogspot.com

What ever the reason, AT&T and Verizon both have seem to settle the lawsuits originating from Verizon's "There Is A Map For That" ad campaign. The ads depicted that Verizon had a better 3G coverage than AT&T. So it is now settled but we have to see if the map ads will continue to amuse us (It seems they do!). Previously AT&T lost a injunction attempt against the "There Is A Map For That" ads.
Gizmodo has received the following statement from AT&T. (Link after th jump)

IT IS HEREBY STIPULATED AND AGREED by and between Plaintiff/Counterclaim Defendant Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless ("Verizon Wireless") and Defendant/Counterclaim Plaintiff AT&T Mobility LLC ("AT&T") that pursuant to Rule 41(a) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure: (a) Verizon Wireless's claims against AT&T in the above- captioned action are hereby dismissed without prejudice, and (b) AT&T's counterclaims against Verizon Wireless in the above-captioned action are hereby dismissed without prejudice.
According to CNN, AT&T declined to comment beyond the statement of dismissal of the lawsuit and  Verizon too declined to comment on the dismissal, but has pointed to a new "reindeer" ad using the "There's A Map For That" theme and maps.
