Despite The US-led Opposition And Bans, Huawei Managed To Ship 200M Phones In 2018.

Huawei overtook Apple in Q2 2018
With all the device bans, the US led opposition, CFO arrests and partners like Softbank looking other way to get Sprint-T-Mobile deal alive, Huawei has managed to ship 200 million phones in 2018. The numbers are up thanks to different versions of phone models. The P20 and Mate 20 series have contributed 21 Million units, P20 16 Million and the Mate 20, 5 million devices.
But the biggest mover is  Huawei's own Nova series, including the just-launched Nova 4. The firm has sold more than 65 million of the mid-range devices since the series began.
The next number adder is the more budget-oriented Honor badge. Although there were no specific figures, Huawei lauded that the outstanding performance of the Honor series as a major factor in its success at home.
The numbers are positive for the number two phone maker in the world. The gain of 2018 is 30% of the previous year.
If you are wondering how Huawei made these numbers while being under such pressure,  the other side of the coin is that Huawei does not rely on USA for it's phone market. Also the device ban which is mouthed by every news outlet, is focused on 5G network equipment, not Huawei phones. One could walk in to phone shop, even in west, could purchase a Huawei phone, today.
The outlook for the 2019 relies on quite a few factors and how the phone company plays it's game. Most of the Asia and Africa are open and all these backlash on a local giant might wake up nationality pride in China. So Huawei is far from being squashed.
