VoIP IP Telephony Compnay Swyx Releases SwyxWare Version 6.10

London, 30.11.2007 - Swyx a market-leading vendor of IP telephony solutions has announced SwyxWare Version 6.10, the latest version of its software-based VoIP telephony, aimed at both SMEs and larger corporates. New features include Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) with the SwyxMobile option that enables workers on the move to take advantage of important Swyx IP-PBX functionality they would normally only be able to enjoy in the office such as call forwarding, call recording and conferencing.

According to Senior Vice president of Sales and Marketing at Swyx, Ralf Ebbinghaus, “There is growing demand both from employers and staff for more flexible methods of working that blur the boundaries between the office and other locations. In turn, customers expect enquiries to be responded to quickly wherever the employee is. With SwyxWare Version 6.10, mobile workers can now be available to receive calls, just as if they were on an office-based telephone extension. In the same way, they can make outbound calls on their mobile, as if they are dialling from the office. When in the office they can either choose to always use their mobile, therefore eradicating the need for an office-based phone, or they may find it more convenient to switch to a deskphone, retaining the same extension number.”

SwyxMobile supports any mobile phone. For additional comfort a separate client for smartphones running Symbian and Windows Mobile operating systems is available. Compatibility with Blackberries is due in Q1, 2008.

The benefits of SwyxMobile include:

  • One number and one single voice mail box
  • Office-based IP-PBX functionality on a mobile including: Call Forwarding, Call Swap, Conferencing, Call Recording
  • Colleagues using SwyxIt! can see whether mobile workers are on the phone via on-screen ‘presence’ information
  • All existing office-based call restrictions/configurations are applied to mobiles
  • Caller and re-dial lists from SwyxWare can be accessed
  • Customers can get hold of you quicker, wherever you are
  • Cost reduction through efficient use of framework contracts, least cost routing, use of GSM gateways etc.

SwyxMobile is included in the SwyxProfessional Option Pack. Existing Swyx users will be able to upgrade free of charge if they have a valid Swyx Update Service in place. SwyxMobile is also available separately as a chargeable option. Users must upgrade to SwyxWare V6.10 first, in order to run SwyxMobile. SwyxWare Version 6.10 is available starting 1st of December 2007.

Other enhancements to SwyxWare include:

  • Easier administration for individual users or management
  • Web interface for administrators and users
  • New ‘Feature codes’ enable easy remote access to voicemail and call forwarding
  • Source based routing capabilities
