Google FI Brings Richer messaging with RCS In Messages App

With RCS in Messages, Your messaging takes an entirely new path. With RCS supported messaging, you can do more and share more when you interact with friends, family members, groups, and even businesses or anyone who has RCS supported messaging at the other end. 

You’ll be able to see typing indicators and read receipts, share high-resolution videos, and message over Wi-Fi or data with others that have RCS enabled.

If you phone is designed for Google Fi, RCS will be automatically enabled. RCS will be available on phones designed for Fi and compatible Android phones.  But if you’re on a Google FI compatible Android phone, you’ll need to have Messages as your default messaging app. If you do not have the app you can get it from here,  Messages. (Google Play link) Once the app is ready, you’ll see some simple prompts to enable RCS.

Voice over LTE (VoLTE) To Cross Boundaries At Verizon Wireless and AT&T Boarders, Many More Carriers To Join.

 AT&T and Verizon are planing to make voice over LTE, VoLTE, work between their networks in 2015. If the plans works out well, my iPhone(s) will be able to talk to my Android phones, with clear, crystal clear HD Voice calls. Now a days it is clear but sometimes have to guess what the other party is saying, even over regular voice lines.

Verizon's Advanced Calling 1.0 services was introduced across the United States in September, and will continue to make Advanced Calling-capable smartphones available to its customers. AT&T introduced VoLTE services in its initial markets earlier this year, and will continue to expand to more devices and more markets across the United States.     

AT&T and Verizon Wireless have worked closely with the GSMA on this initiative. The GSMA's Network 2020 program is designed to encourage mobile operators globally to accelerate the adoption of native IP Communication Services such as voice and video calling over LTE as well as Rich Communications Services (RCS).
