"As of late last week TechCrunch no longer has editorial independence."

TechCrunch http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
It has been a wild ride with TechCrunch over the years. I have read the site regularly and witnessed the change. Infact we have seen the change in all AOL acquired Tech Blogs. I guess you can expect much less links to TechCrunch from here.
But AOL, taking back their promises it seems;

"The only issue being discussed at this point, the only issue that matters, is TechCrunch editorial independence and self determination. Regardless of my role, if any, going forward. ..

    I believe that AOL should be held to their promise when they acquired us to give TechCrunch complete editorial independence. As of late last week TechCrunch no longer has editorial independence. ...TechCrunch :: Michael Arrington

Friendly, iPad Facebook App Goes Free!

#Friendly, #iPad #Facebook App Goes Free! http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
With having more than 500,000 active users, the $0.99 Facebook App for iPad (unofficial) have been making waves among iPad users. But now the industry experts are wondering if the company who made the app, Oecoway, could turn that wave in to a tsunami with newly released free version of Friendly.
The one dollar friendly will not go away with the introduction of the free version, but both versions will coexist, providing different fronts of profitability to the company.
The free version will make money with ads and the paid version will present facebook on a clean slate.
“We’re really excited because Friendly for Facebook has been an extremely successful paid application. It’s held the top overall spot for paid applications for more than 40 days, and it’s been the top paid social media iPad app since we launched version 1.0. But we want as many people as possible to be able to experience Friendly for Facebook so that’s why we are making it free,” Oecoway co-founder Cyril Moutran told Techcrunch
I wonder what will happen when the Official Facebook App for iPad shows up, which one will show up when you search for "facebook" on iPad app store.
For now you can get free version here and the paid version here.
