According to an article on Financial times Apple plan to integrate Beats Music, the streaming service in to iOS. Perhaps in time for Apple Watch. As if Spotify did not want another set back, it looks like it is coming directly at it.

Apple will bundle the subscription music service it acquired from Beats into its iOS operating system early next year, instantly making it available on hundreds of millions of iPhones and iPads – and ramping up pressure on Spotify, the market leader in music streaming.

The inclusion of the paid-for Beats service in an iOS software update could happen as early as March, according to people familiar with the situation.

But will Apple meat the same anti-trust/anti competitive issue that Microsoft faced when it integrated IE in to Windows. It looks the same to me (IANL) as both are leveraging the advantage it has on OS to push their other products an unfair advantage.
But there will be a way to use your favorite streaming app, just like I use Google Maps for iOS rather than the broken, Apple Map. Hopefully you can do the same with Beats App.

Swift broke up with Spotify and pulled all her music from the service and Spotify sang sad songs. Even among the turmoil Spotify has surpassed iTunes in Europe in earnings. But it was not the end.
Taylor went onto explain her position on Yahoo, but the explanation was too painful to read/watch as I felt that it was not close to the reality. But she did sell 1.3 million copies of her album and exclude me or anyone I know from that 1.3 million people. If I really wanted to listen, I could have gone to Youtube but her music is not that worth to me. But people who do, they do.
Now we find that the saga is not over, Daniel Ek of Spotify has revealed today that Taylor was in line to earn $6 million from Spotify. We also noted that the sales from the album 1989 was $12 million(first week). I doubt Big Machine would give her all the money.
Anyway even though not exactly pointed at Taylor, Daniel Ek's long write up explains a lot about the industry and how money flows etc.
He noted that payouts from Spotify, 2 Billion so far have been progressively rising thus streaming is the way of the future for all music. I tend to believe him but services like iTunes and Google Play will continue to provide copies when we want to have the songs near by.

We all have seen what Taylor Swift has done with her new album, 1.3 million sales in a week and the Spotify saga. This has happened last was with Eminem's 2002 album. And she was interviewed by Yahoo and she explained why she pulled out of Spotify. Feel like bunch of bull and last time I looked she did not have wings. Your music is not even in my radar but I do listen on radio and when you used to be on Spotify. Most artists I liked on streaming services like Spotify, I ended up purchasing. I guess I will never you now. I would rather be listening to Saw Lady :). I would like to point you to a better written article expressing the same thoughts on TechCrunch. If I had streamed the new album, it's impossible to try to speculate what would have happened. But all I can say is that music is changing so quickly, and the landscape of the music industry itself is changing so quickly, that everything new, like Spotify, all feels to me a bit like a grand experiment. And I'm not willing to contribute my life's work to an experiment that I don't feel fairly compensates the writers, producers, artists, and creators of this music. And I just don't agree with perpetuating the perception that music has no value and should be free. I wrote an op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal this summer that basically portrayed my views on this. I try to stay really open-minded about things, because I do think it's important to be a part of progress. But I think it's really still up for debate whether this is actual progress, or whether this is taking the word "music" out of the music industry. Also, a lot of people were suggesting to me that I try putting new music on Spotify with "Shake It Off," and so I was open-minded about it. I thought, "I will try this; I'll see how it feels." It didn't feel right to me. I felt like I was saying to my fans, "If you create music someday, if you create a painting someday, someone can just walk into a museum, take it off the wall, rip off a corner off it, and it's theirs now and they don't have to pay for it." I didn't like the perception that it was putting forth. And so I decided to change the way I was doing things.

Kobalt a music broker house that collect royalties for many a artists have revealed that says that in the last quarter in Europe, revenues from Spotify streams were 13% higher on average than revenues from Apple’s iTunes for its customers.

Worlds favorite singer, Taylor Swift and Spotify, worlds largest streaming service seem to have no love between them, even though, Spotify is sending her love filled pleas. I expected something like this when Music companies complained about lost sales due to streaming services. Even Apple's iTunes lost to the tune of 13% in downloads / sales. RIAA reported increase, a huge jump in streaming subscriptions.

Well all before this Taylor Swift went on WSJ talking about her music being a love affair and more;
"Music is art, and art is important and rare. Important, rare things are valuable. Valuable things should be paid for. It's my opinion that music should not be free, and my prediction is that individual artists and their labels will someday decide what an album's price point is. I hope they don't underestimate themselves or undervalue their art."
Hope it will not be a sad one. Publications like The Washington Post, did not like her piece on WSJ and criticized her, ironically referring to her as a streaming enthusiastic;
"Streaming enthusiasts such as Swift should remember: Twenty percent of music on Spotify has never been streamed — so much that there’s a kind of song rescue shelter, Forgotify, to memorialize it."
Anyway there are no other news about the incident other than the plea by Spotify and it's 40 million users. I doubt that all 40 million listen to her but it could be as her album 1989, looks to hit platinum.
Her songs are available through other streaming services, Rdio, Pandora and Deezer and even if it is not, I will not miss her as she is not my type. But there are a lots and lots of people who do and for their sake, I hope this will turn out to be a happy love song.
