Looks like Asus is testing Android 3.2 on EEE Pad Transformer, and there are talks of owners of EEE Pad Transformer getting official Netflix app. with the Android 3.2 update.
My EEE Pad just got the Android 3.1 update. So I am hoping that the next update will come sooner and bring what Asus tells us in the EEE Pad spec page.
Most of the Android tablets are getting the Netflix app or able to sideload the app. But EEE Pad Transformer owners are in a bit of jinx in the that direction. Yes of course you can root the device and jump through some hoops to get it working like the XDA forum explains.
I cannot root my device as I am developing a vertical market app and the people who are paying for the app wants absolute clean slate. So I am out of the rooting solution for the moment
So I will stay watching Netflix on my iPad 2 :) , yes I got one of those too but that is a whole another story.
I can tell you, I love my Asus EEE Pad Transformer (which is getting a partner, a 3G enabled EEE pad soon), in fact 64GB WiFI+3G iPad sat in the very box for a few days before I opened it. It is not bad but as far as I am concerned it lives up to and because of the hype. I have not put the iPad through the hoops like I have done with the EEE pad and before that the Motorola XOOM.
In any case if you are the rooting type follow the link to XDA Forums to find out how to do it. I am going to trust Asus and wait for them to provide me with Netflix App.

Motorola XOOM, Are you going to ask me for $799? Since iPad2 has taken you fair and square? I think I am pretty happy with iPad2, even though I do not like Apple policies. Hardware wise it has come ways and like second version of anything Apple, iPad2 shines.
So Motorola, only way you can get me to buy you product is by, dropping the price and releasing a WiFi only version!

I really think FTC or DoJ really need to look at Apple's subscription laws.When we thought it has cooled down, another victim of Apple's practice, Readability, posted an open letter to Apple. This time Apple wants to charge 30%, if the app provides functionality, or services in addition to content sellers like Murdoch. SaaS (Software As A Service) is in Big Trouble, if they are planing to leverage Apple iOS popularity and customers. Readability pointed out the following from 11.2 in the App Store Review Guidelines:

11.2     Apps utilizing a system other than the In App Purchase API (IAP) to purchase content, functionality, or services in an app will be rejected.

Those who are thinking of bringing SAAS to Apple platform, get ready to poke out 30% of your income or charge 30% more from your customers, either way you lose. People with RSS readers, if you are planing to charge customers, add 30%, oops you too lose.


Great way to do business Apple, you are turning away the same apps that made you successful. Remember Google Voice App, yes I too think you suck and will stay away from you as much as possible.
Readability, as you can see from the video below, strips unnecessary bits, (yes ads too but authors are compensated, read below) and presented to the reader in a readable way but their app got rejected by Apple.

We’re obviously disappointed by this decision, and surprised by the broad language. By including “functionality, or services,” it’s clear that you intend to pursue any subscription-based apps, not merely those of services serving up content. Readability’s model is unique in that 70% of our service fees go directly to writers and publishers. If we implemented In App purchasing, your 30% cut drastically undermines a key premise of how Readability works.

Well Apple, do not worry, I am exchanging my iPhone for an Android phone and I have made a request at work for Android Tablet, perhaps a Motorola XOOM, After Bestbuy Verizon game ends.

Looks like Verizon Motorola XOOM will come to Bestbuy stores on February 24th. Engadget has snared a copy of an add that says so. The Motorola XOOM super bowl ad did tell us the zombied of 1984 will take hikes yesterday!
The Ad also has some data pricing on it, starting at $20 per month for a 1GB to up to a 10GB limit for $80.

We were not expecting this but Toshiba has sent some signs of challenges over to Apple regarding the Apple iPad. Basically as per Toshoba iPad lacks bunch of stuff being a true tablet.
Toshiba should know, they were selling tablet PC's when only tablets Steve Jobs knew were in his medicine cabinet.
But the comments on the post on All things D, have laid wrath on Toshiba, I glanced over a few but was not able to locate any siding Toshiba.
I do not care much about Flash and it's super cookies but after blocking Adobe Flash from spying and sharing my internet habits, I do visit Flash enabled sites. Because I need some of those information, even the flashy Toshiba site, of which I declined storage of content on my PC.
Everyone by now also knows that I am not a fan of iPad and the AT&T combination and steadfastly looking for a suitable Android Tablet. Now I have one more to the list headed by Motorola XOOM.Good thing is both are sporting the Nvidia Tegra 2, with Tegra 3 Quad Core on the things, including insults, could get only better.

Motorola, reportedly  has placed orders for about 700,000-800,000 units of Motorola Honeycomb based tablet, Motorola XOOM, with four color options targeting the first quarter of 2011. The news comes from Digitimes' sources from upstream component makers. They also speculated that the orders might go up as high as one million units in the quarter.

The boom in the tablet PC market stand to make greater opportunities for large, (Taiwan-based notebook chassis makers such as Catcher Technology and Foxconn Technology), as well as to others ( handset chassis makers including Taiwan Chi Cheng (CCC) and Silitech Technology) in the coming year.

Google's Android 3.0 will be powering most 7- to 10-inch tablet PCs as the Android OS 3.0 also known as Honeycomb is specially made for tablets. Currently, Motorola and Samsung are Google's priority partners with LG Electronics and High Tech Computer (HTC) following behind for the Android 3.0, according to Digitimes.
