Joost is doing the exactly the same thing as skype, as far as the network is concerned. Now there is a lot of traffic on the network. I will run the analyzer some time next week to see actual usages.

First bunch of invites are out! More coming alter
Sorry Guys and Gals, I will send out two invites tomorrow morning. I will chose from all the requesters, from earliest to the latest. I have taken over from Ravenii for Joost invites as Ravenii is too busy. Ravenii has asked me to count in all the requests for this selection.
I the future, all the invites will pertain to particular offering only i.e all the old requests will not count towards an invite. If you want a joost invite, you will have to request again. Enjoy Joosting.

I read at JAJAH blog that it has enterd into a new territory with it's VOIP software.

According to a discussion at /. and USA TODAY article (Find the links below), it seems that Vonage is in between a rock and a hard place.
Vonage has finally confirmed what many had feared: The embattled Internet phone company has no "workaround" in hand to sidestep Verizon's patented Internet phone technology.
Moreover, Vonage (VG) isn't sure that such a plan is even "feasible," given the expansiveness of Verizon's (VZ) patents, which set out methods for passing calls between the Web and conventional phone networks. Vonage's chilly assessment, contained in a filing submitted to a federal court Friday, marks the first time it has admitted that it doesn't have a plan for getting around Verizon's technology. Vonage couldn't be reached for comment.
