Investors did not like the Tim Cook style and no iPhone 5 even less. So the stocks were down and with after hours trading standing at Exxon at the top with Market Cap of 354.11B versus Apple's Market Cap standing at 345.34B.
So Apple is not the most valuable company in the world. It looks Tim Cook is not Steve Jobs (Duh), and lacks the spark. Perhaps he should have named iPhone 4S, iPhone .5, that is 0.5.

Even though he has big shoes to fill, the thirteen year old Apple veteran, the new CEO, Tim Cook is not sitting around and has already sent out an email to the Apple team confirming and recognizing the role of now departed Apple CEO Steve Jobs, as well as his aspirations regarding Apple. Old folks tell me that Tim Cook is million times better than that John Sculley, Apple board voted a few decades ago.
Good luck Tim, we expect to see Apple to be even better fruit under you.

Joining Apple was the best decision I've ever made and it's been the privilege of a lifetime to work for Apple and Steve for over 13 years. I share Steve's optimism for Apple's bright future.

Steve Jobs Ends His CEO Era.

We may have been more of Android fan boys but we know a good man when we see, hear and meet one. Steve Jobs was one such. No matter what the reasons are, this is not good. There is nothing we know enough about to bash him up yet. At least it is a breather that Steve will remain as the Chairman.

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
