Custom Greetings! Answer Differently To Different People, On Google Voice!

Continuing their quest to make Google Voice Newbies, better GV users, Carol and Heather introduced Custom Greetings On Google Voice today.
Me being a techhead, left same old boring message as a greeting to every one, My parents, my dear Grand Ma (Why are you so rude in your message? [because I did not say please]) and my friends got General default: "Hi, I can't get to the phone right now, so please leave your name and a message. If you don't leave a message, I probably won't return your call. Thanks."
I am glad I read the post, now my Grand Ma gets an ultra sweet greeting (I can even imagine her smile when she hears it) and better message to parents and Hey dude message to my friends.
Wow I could even compose myself differently to different messages!

I did not have any problem setting up my custome messages on Google Voice but if you do you can reach out to the Google Voice Help Forum or Google Voice Help Center,

Google Voice For Newbies
Carol and Heather, the "Google Voice For Newbies" series authors continue to provide us with better ways to utilize Google Voice.
I have been using this feature but never occured to me that others may not know about it until I read Carol and Heather's post.
Actually I use it for several reasons and one is what the Googlers mentioned, to screen all calls at dinner time. Yes, all calls go to voice mail during these periods.
I also use it to block calls during our weekly conference calls at work (We have set aside one hour every week, to discuss issues concerning our remote branch offices on Mondays. We also plan out next week during these meetings.) On other days I use it for my Office quality time and do not like to be disturbed. I think I am begining to learn more about Goole Voice and loving it.
But you can use this feature in many a ways. Give it a try!

Multiple Phone Numbers In Google Voice Allows You To Switch Among Then Seamlessly!

Carol and Heather from Google are active again, with their series "Google Voice For Newbies" explaining Google Voice to new comers. Which I first introduced in Free Calls to Canada with Google Voice.
I of course have added all my phone numbers to Google Voice and they do forward to right phone and it was not much of a problem to setup. But when reading the post by my now favorite Google Voice Bloggers, Carol and Heather, I realized that there are more tricks to it than I knew, Just adding forwarding phone numbers.
They taught me a super trick today! Thank you C & H;
"By linking multiple phones to your Voice number, you'll also be able to switch phones mid-conversation. For example, my sister calls my Voice number and I pick up my work phone to speak to her. I chat with her for a few minutes, and then I realize its time to go home. Instead of telling my sister I'm going to hang up and call her again on my cell phone, I simply press the * on my work phone, and my other linked phones will ring. I pick up my cell phone, hang up my work phone, and continue chatting with my sister on my cell. Seamless!"
