Google Skirts Verizon, Hugs Vodafone

Initially when Nexus One, the real Google Phone, was launched Google told all of us that, even the phones were sold online, there will be versions available through Verizon in the US and Vodafone in the UK.

Today's blog post by Nexus One says that there will no longer be a Verizon version of Nexus One and urges users to Verizon network, instead to aim for Droid Incredible. Droid Incredible and Nexus One were both manufactured by HTC.

UK users WILL get their Nexus One version from Vodafone and will be able to get the phone from Vodaphone stores, online or even over the current phone. The users in France (SFR), Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain can look ahead to see the device on the shelves soon as well.

US users will be able to purchase the Nexus One online like the initial Google Android announcement indicated.
