63% Of Verizon Smartphone Sales Are Apple iPhone.

Verizon Sells 6.2 Million iPhones http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/

Looks like Apple is doing good in Verizon arena and Verizon with iPhone in Smartphone arena. Verizon sold 9.8 million smartphones and 6.2 million of them were iPhones. iPhone 5 also did well in the Verizon shelves, selling 4 million units in the last quarter.

“In the fourth quarter, we activated 9.8 million smartphones, which was by far our highest total ever, about 65 percent of these smartphones were 4G LTE, and in terms of Apple iPhones, we activated about 6.2 million in the quarter, and almost half were 4G LTEs.” Verizon’s chief financial officer Fran Shammo said in today’s earnings call.

iPhone 5 sales helped Apple to pass 50% smartphone sales in the US since it was introduced and kept Android and other smartphone at bay during the holiday season. But the Verizon numbers are really big numbers and sweet songs for Tim Cook.
Of the remaining 3.6 million smartphones, majority were Android phones and of those, over 95% were LTE phones.
The company continued to enhance its device lineup with new smartphones and tablets. In the fourth quarter, Verizon Wireless launched eight 4G LTE smartphones: the DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD by Motorola; Windows Phone 8X by HTC; Nokia Lumia 822; Samsung Galaxy Note II; Spectrum 2 by LG; Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II; and the DROID DNA by HTC.  In addition, Verizon Wireless launched three tablets in the quarter: the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Apple iPad with Retina display and Apple iPad mini.
With all this, Verizon (VZ) with a $1.93 billion loss in the holiday quarter.
