Cricket Wireless is set to get Huawei Ascend later this month and it will cost $150, yes that is without 2 year contract or rebate involved. It will come with a $55 all inclusive Android Plan, a month to month wireless service.
The hands on review by engadget says the phone is what are you paying for, the phone itself feel a bit cheap with it's plastic case housing a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen HVGA display. They goes on to say that the touchscreen is a bit rough 3.2MP fixed focus camera only shoots video in QIF. Hey my expensive iPhone 3G did not do video at all! But the phone seem to be very responsive with it's Android 2.1 OS. The phone Huawei Ascend also has WiFi, MP3 player, MicroSD slot.

The phone is a 3G and supports all things Android like, Android Market Place will allow you to fill your phone with apps. Additionally, customers utilizing the $55 rate plan have free access to MyBackup, a system that enables subscribers to automatically protect, store and edit their mobile contacts online and without the need for data cables.
“We are excited about launching the Huawei Ascend, It’s the lowest cost, non-contract Android device in the market complete with all the features and functionality users want. This truly exemplifies our mission to provide our customers with meaningful wireless services while offering more choices and fewer restrictions.” said Matt Stoiber, vice president and general manager of devices for Cricket Communications.
