Skype Founders Invest In A Mobile VoIP Firm

Tech news is reporting that Skype founders, Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis, along with venture capital firm Khosla Ventures, have their hands in another cookie jar, also working on communications. The trio have invested a million dollars in the Swedish-American company, Heysan providing mobile chat services to the mases.

Heysan supports Yahoo, Googletalk, AIM, MSN and ICQ-messages on mobile phones. According to the report the investment will allow the company to launch a new VoIP service. Heysan plans to allow users to make international mobile calls for the price of a local call by using local access points and completing to call with VoIP Solutions, which makes an international Mobile call much cheaper.

So far the young company, Heysan said to have added about 200 000 users, with 2 000 more joining every day. I think the site is still getting ready. The blog says coming soon and Press page asks us to write and ask for news. But if the company is good enough to attract the interests of Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis, there must be something really good behind the curtains.
”The most important feedback from Niklas was not to be tempted to enter new areas before the core product is good enough," said Gustaf Alströmer of Heysan.
