With IPEVO SOLO.1, Make Skype Calls to Anywhere Without a Computer.


After writing about RTX DualPhone 3081, a phone to make VoIP calls(including Skype) without a computer, I learned that that there is another phone that could make skype calls to anywhere without a computer. It is a phone by IPEVO.
IPEVO has made a few other VoIP phones. Free.1, Free.2, Trio and Xing and all these were USB phones and were to be used with a computer attached! Now the company has released SOLO, which is pictured above and as the name suggests, operates stand alone as long as there is a Internet connection. According to the company, Setting up is as easy as plugging in the network cable, log in to your Skype account, and just pick up to make a call!.
Yes it is a desktop phone. But given the track record of the company, I think we will see a SOLO.2 or SOLO WiFi, a wireless SOLO soon! I have a feeling there is Linux somewhere and I really would like to get my hand on one soon. In any case it is a
